Temporomandibular Joint Therapy

If you've ever been in even a minor car wreck you know the aches and pains that happen days, weeks, even months later.  Most commonly, neck pain occurs.
A typical scenario is that you see your chiropractor, physical therapist, or physician to relieve the neck and back pain but your jaw and face pain continue.

So if after a whiplash injury:
Your jaw muscles aches when chewing ..
Your teeth don't fit together like they did before the accident...
       Your jaw joint makes noises...
You grind your teeth or wake up with sore jaws...
       Headaches or earaches...

Then you may have TMD: temporomandibular Joint Disorder.

Why is this happening?

The cushion (called a disc) between the skull and jawbone has been dislocated because of the trauma of the whiplash from the accident.
As the result the jaw joint aches, the jaw muscles don't crack right, and the teeth don't fit together well

Treatment varies according to the severity of the injury.

This is a thumbnail sketch a very debilitating injury.  If you think you have it, please call for an exam appointment.

Dr. Richter has learned extensively from the leaders in this field and has lectured to law and chiropractic symposin on this subject.
He is considered an expert in this area.  If you feel you have TMD call today for an exam appointment.
